Psychiatric evaluations

A comprehensive assessment conducted by a mental health professional, to evaluate an individual’s mental health and well-being. It is a structured process that involves gathering information about the individual’s symptoms, medical history, and personal background to determine the presence of any mental health disorders or conditions.

Medication Management

An important aspect of psychiatric treatment for individuals with mental health disorders. It involves the careful prescribing, monitoring, and adjustment of medications to effectively manage symptoms and improve overall well-being.

Anxiety

Characterized by excessive and persistent worry that is difficult to control, causes significant distress or impairment

Depression

Mood state, as indicated by feelings of sadness, despair, anxiety, emptiness, discouragement, or hopelessness; having no feelings; or appearing tearful.

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Characterized by recurrent intrusive distressing thoughts, images, or urges (obsessions), and/or by behavioral acts (compulsions) that the individual feels driven to perform.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Characterized by intrusive thoughts, nightmares and flashbacks of past traumatic events, avoidance of reminders of trauma, hypervigilance, and sleep disturbance, all of which lead to considerable social, occupational, and interpersonal dysfunction.

Sleep/Insomnia

Poor sleep quality or insufficient quantity due to difficulty initiating sleep, difficulty maintaining sleep, or waking up too early.

Bipolar Disorder

Can present with mania, hypomania, major depression , mixed features , or psychotic features (eg, delusions or hallucinations).

ADHD/ADD

Characterized by symptoms of inattention, impulsivity, and restlessness, resulting in functional impairment.

Adjustment Disorder

An emotional or behavioral reaction to a stressful event or change in a person’s life.

Postpartum Depression

Considered when a patient has a major depressive episode along with the peripartum onset, and it is not mentioned as a separate disease. By definition, it is defined as a major depressive episode with the onset of pregnancy or within 4 weeks of delivery.
